Sheila Haji, principle of GIS sister company Common Ground Consulting Services, has over twenty-five years of internal and external experience as a manager, consultant, trainer, and coach.

Fortune 500 companies such as Verizon, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Freddie Mac, and Lockheed Martin have solicited her training and development expertise to enhance the core competencies of their leaders, managers, and teams. Sheila has delivered dynamic workshops, webinars, customized training programs, and keynote addresses to thousands of participants in the public and private sectors on such topics as The Challenge of Change and Team Building, Diversity in Action, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Conflict Management and Team Building: Tools, Tips, and Techniques that Work!

Her ability to engage, enlighten, and energize her audiences has earned Sheila a reputation as a trusted training and leadership development resource for clients such as, AARP, Social Security Administration, Federal Judicial Center, Booz-Allen-Hamilton, E*Trade Financial, PNC Bank, UPMC Health System, Fetzer Institute, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Nevada Power, Washington Gas, and the Fetzer Institute.

Prior to her consulting career, Sheila spent sixteen years at the former Bell Atlantic Corporation, where her management career spanned functional areas such as customer service, budgeting, Enhanced 911 data base implementation and Organization Development. Her demonstrated capacity to positively impact bottom line results in both technical and “soft skills” arenas greatly informed her philosophy and approach to leadership development.

Sheila has taught courses on leadership, teams, and group dynamics at Johns Hopkins University and served as adjunct faculty for both the Organization Development and Coaching Certificate Programs at Georgetown University. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and former president of the Chesapeake Bay Organization Development Network.

Sheila holds a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, a M.S. in Telecommunications Policy from George Washington University, and a M.S. in Human Resource Development from American University. She is certified to administer Myers Briggs Typology, Benchmarks, and 360 By Design.
